Mangesh is most well known for being a part of music composing duo Nitin-Mangesh who composed for Bollywood films during the 1970s and early 1980s. Their most notable works include - Samaanta (1972), Qaid (1975), Aafat (1977) and Khanjar (1980).

 

The music directors have composed for and collaborated with many renowned Bollywood playback singers including - Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Manna Dey and Asha Bhosle.

Since the passing of Nitin in 2012, Mangesh has worked with many UK artists in producing unique yet reminiscent of his vast experience in the Hindi film industry.
